A spanking new Dutch Cuisine and Seafood Restaurant and Lounge, the first of its kind in Guyana, opened its doors to the public on Friday, August 11, 2023. Sweet Elegance Restaurant and Lounge is now open from Sunday to Saturday and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Founder Raymond David, a re-migrant who spent the last 20 years of his life in Holland, has 14 years experience as a chef and has graduated from two cooking institutes in Holland. Mr. David said that he was inspired by President Ali’s call for the diaspora to return home and help build the booming oil economy. He envisioned something he could create and saw that there is a demand for restaurant services in Guyana.
Mr. Raymond David, who is also the owner of a Seafood Shop in Holland, said that he is optimistic that, with time, his Dutch Cuisine and Seafood Restaurant will eventually branch off to other parts of the country.

Opening Hours
Management explained to this publication that Sweet Elegance Restaurant and Lounge will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM from Monday to Thursdays. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant will be open from 7:00 A.M to 12:00 PM. And on Sundays, it will be open from 10 AM to 9 PM. On Sundays, Sweet Elegance Restaurant and Lounge will serve lunch and dinner only; breakfast will not be served on Sundays since it will be open from 10 PM.
