Last updated: July 23, 2024 at 0:59 amA heartrending tragedy along the Corentyne Public Road at Kiltearn Village, Region 6, which occurred at around 2:AM this morning, Monday, 22nd of July, 2024, has left the country of Guyana in a state of shock and several families in a state of anxiety and mourning. Dead is 18 year old Bibi Aleah Allie, the only passenger of the vehicle at the time which was being driven by her common-law husband, 24-year-old Niraz Sukdeo. Sukdeo was critically wounded and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Berbice.
Niraz Sukdeo and Bibi Aleah Allie, who resided together at Lancaster Village, were reportedly on their way back from an outing in Skeldon Village, Region 6, when the young man lost control of the motor car he was driving and crashed into a crane parked at the side of the road. The mangled state of the vehicle suggests that the car might have been going at a very high speed. It is not clear at this time if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
A resident of the area said he heard a “loud bang” around 2:00 AM this morning of Monday, 22nd of July, 2024. Rushing out of his house, he came face to face with the horrible scene: a mangled vehicle wrecked beyond repair, and two badly hurt young people. Residents of the area reportedly rushed the young woman to the Skeldon Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctor on duty. The young man was rushed to the Anamayah Private Hospital in Belvedere, Corentyne, Berbice, where he was admitted in critical condition and is currently receiving medical treatment in the intensive care unit.
Speaking to the media, Mohamed Allie, the father of the deceased Bibi Aleah Allie, said that his daughter and Sukdeo were in a relationship for some time now. He related that his now deceased daughter had moved out of their home about 8 months ago, against his wishes, to live home with her boyfriend. Niraz Sukdeo is the son of the proprietors of the successful and well-established Bio Tech Medical Lab located at Lancaster Village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana.
“It hurt me bad, because she is my first born. She whole body break up; brain dismantle, feet, neck, everything just break…. I hurt, it hurt me real bad because is my first born that, and as a father you must have to feel hurt.” – Mohamed Allie, father of Bibi Aleah Allie.
