Last updated: May 19, 2023 at 14:22 pmNow here’s a heartwarming story. A few days ago, a man appeared in a viral video pleading and crying for someone to help him. He is married but has not children. He had lost one of his legs while operating a tractor in Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice. As such, he and his family fell on hard times. As a last resort, the man took to social media, foregoing all pride and dignity, to plead for help from anyone who cares.
While a number of persons might have reached out and assisted, some more than others, one case has been most noticeable. Popular Georgetown businessman and philanthropist, Azzruddin Mohamed, the principal of Team Mohameds, has met with the man in need. In fact, Mohamed brought him to his home in Georgetown, as you can see from the photos below.
According to the Facebook Page of Team Mohameds, Mr. Mohamed has assisted the man with a prosthetic leg and also made a “tangible” monetary contribution towards his lifestock business.

26-year-old closer to getting prosthetic leg following intervention of Mr. Mohamed.
Days after Naresh Ramcharitar of Mibicuri, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice was seen on social media pleading for assistance for a prosthetic leg, businessman Mr. Mohamed is now integrally involved in making sure the 26-year-old’s plead becomes a reality.
The young man accompanied by his wife; Kavita met the businessman today where discussions were had on the way forward to having a prosthetic leg.
These discussions have already started to bear fruits as the businessman managed to get an appointment with a doctor at Ptolemy Reid’s Rehabilitation Centre. Ramcharitar accompanied by Mr. Mohamed subsequently visited the Centre where the process has begun.
In addition, the businessman has also made a tangible monetary donation to the young man to expand his cattle-rearing business and to take care of other personal expenses. Presently, he has about 18 heads of goat that he rears on a daily basis even though he is incapacitated.
Ramcharitar would have been involved in an accident about one year ago while working with a well-known rice farmer in Black Bush Polder thus causing him to lose his right leg. Now with him moving closer to getting a prosthetic leg, the young man is thankful for Mr. Mohamed’s intervention.
Mr. Mohamed however, encouraged the young man never to give up while stating the accident could have been worse. It is on this note, he explained that everyone has to cross hurdles in life, no matter how rich or successful they are, and this does not exclude him.
Further, he told Ramcharitar that God has given him another lease on life and he should take full advantage of it.
The businessman also thanked the cooperative staff at Ptolemy Reid Rehab Centre for attending to the young man at such short notice. Anyone who wishes to make a donation to Ramcharitar can contact his wife on telephone number, 659-2604.
