It’s not off to a good start! Teachers of Soesdyke Secondary School on the East Bank of Demerara, Region 4, Guyana, South America, this morning, 6th of January, 2024, reportedly had the scare of their lives after a long snake appeared in one the teachers’ desks.
According to a Facebook Post made today by popular social media personality Melissa Ann Atwell (Melly Mel), about three teachers were sitting at a desk in the said school. One of them attempted to open the desk’s drawer to get a whiteboard marker. However, the draw jammed. The teacher pulled harder and had the scare of the new year as what appeared to be a venomous snake popped up in front of her!
Thankfully, the teachers evaded the snake and raised an alarm by screaming, naturally, on the top of their voices. The snake was subsequently killed. It was discovered that the snake, which measured about 6 feet, had just shed its skin in the drawer. Persons on the ground said that the snake was a venomous and deadly type, but this is still be confirmed.
Apparently, the snake had made its way into the building over the Christmas holidays and got cozy in the drawer right before the reopening of school. But watch out! If there is one, there are likely to be more! Who knows if the husband, brothers, sisters, and children of the now dead snake are around? Who knows if the snake laid eggs around the school. This publication strongly recommends suspension of Soesdyke Secondary School for the first week to facilitate a thorough examination and fumigation of the building and its environment! Remember, people’s lives are at stake here, and more so, children!
The videos below, first posted today by Melissa Ann Atwell, sheds (no pun intended) more light on what transpired.
