The United States has advised or instructed all of its citizens in Russia to get out of there now.

“U.S. citizens residing or travelling in Russia should depart immediately,” the U.S. embassy in Moscow said. “Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions. Do not travel to Russia.”

This is not the first time since the US has issued such an advisory since the war started. While the reason given for the advisory is “risk of wrongful detention and harassment,” the possibility of a full scale attack on Moscow aimed at taking out Putin is always looming.

Since the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, 2022, nearly 500,000 persons have been killed on both sides including thousands of civilians. The war has caused extensive and debilitating damage to Ukrainian infrastructure and had sparked a mass exodus of millions of Ukrainians fleeing the country to seek refuge on foreign shores.

So far, the world seems to be sitting on a stadium and cheering the war on like a football game. The United States and other UN countries have strongly supported Ukraine with weapons and finances, but no definitive, wholehearted actions were taken to stop Putin’s devastating and unwarranted attack on innocent lives.
