The young man in the cover photo, Cort Kipp, reportedly jumped into the Demerara River to save a young woman who had plunged in a suicide attempt. The exact date and time of these events, which was revealed today, 3rd of May, 2023, by the Ministry of Human Services, is not clear at time.
Cort Kipp brought the presently unidentified young woman safely to shore and she is reportedly on the path to healing.
Everyone knows how difficult it is to save a drowning person as they have a tendency to lock you down pull you under. What Mr. Kipp did therefore was a show of strength, courage, and selflessness. It takes an extremely strong and skilled swimmer to carry out such a rescue operation without the aid of a floatation device. He risked his life to save another.
During the rescue operation, Cort’s cellphone was lost under the murky waters of the Demera River.
