Last updated: January 8, 2024 at 22:41 pmA true luminary in her field, Dr. Ojageer stands tall as the founder of PharmaSue™, a company which offers a revolutionary concierge health practice that is making waves around the world. With precision medicine coursing through her veins, her mission is unequivocal: empowering clients to seize the reins of their health journey and take ownership of their well-being.
Born in the town of New Amsterdam in the ancient county of Berbice, Guyana, South America, Dr. Sue Ojageer is a shining example of what hard work, focus, and a determined mind can achieve. At the tender age of 5, Sue left Guyana with her mother and father as they migrated to a new life in the United States of America.
Sue’s journey from her childhood in Queens, New York, to her pursuit of a career in the medical field is a testament to the enduring values and sacrifices of her hardworking parents. As an only child, Sue was fortunate to be raised by parents who recognized the transformative power of education and the potential for making a lasting impact on the world.
In an exclusive interview with the Guyana, South America publication, Sue explained that she grew up in a family that valued education, and that her parents instilled in her a strong work ethic, determination, and a sense of responsibility. Their relentless dedication to providing her with the best upbringing and a culturally enriched life laid the foundation for Sue’s aspirations and accomplishments. The values of perseverance, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence that her parents embodied became an integral part of Sue’s character.
Sue’s educational journey began at St. Benedict Joseph Labre elementary school where her curiosity and eagerness to learn were nurtured. Her parents’ influence was evident in her commitment to her studies and her desire to excel in all she pursued. This early academic foundation paved the way for her enrollment at The Mary Louis Academy high school, where she continued to build upon her educational achievements.
In the year 2002, Sue embarked on a new chapter of her life by enrolling in the Pharmacy program at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. This decision was undoubtedly influenced by her parents’ belief in the significance of contributing to the medical field—a belief that had been ingrained in her since childhood. Their unwavering support and encouragement motivated Sue to work diligently towards her goal of becoming a healthcare professional.
The year 2008 marked a significant milestone in Sue’s educational journey. It was the year she transitioned from a student to a graduate, armed with a Doctorate in Pharmacy. The achievement was not only a result of her hard work and dedication but also a tribute to her parents’ sacrifices and aspirations for her.
The zenith of Dr. Sue’s academic pursuits was marked by the acquisition of a Doctorate of Pharmacy from St. John’s University – a cornerstone of her remarkable trajectory.

After completing University, Sue started working as a pharmacist in pharmacies such as Walgreens and other retail pharmacies in the USA. But Sue wasn’t satisfied with the patient care and outcomes at her current position. Her passion for the betterment of humanity through advanced medicine fueled her indomitable will and drove her to greater heights. After 14 years of experience working as a pharmacist, in the year 2021, Sue started to get her feet wet in the science of precision medicine. Drawing from the knowledge she had gained in University, she pursued the subject relentlessly. After researching and completing additional certifications on the subject, Dr. Sue set up her own concierge business PharmaSue and platform www.pharmasue.com where she educates people about the importance and advantages of precision medicine.
“We’re not all the same,” Dr. Sue explains. “While the same medications generally treat the same illnesses across the board, there will be many unfortunate instances where this approach misfires, is ineffective, or even causes harm. That’s because different genetic constitutions respond differently to the same medication. And that’s where the importance of having a genetic profile to reference comes into play. This, together with lifestyle and environmental factors, can greatly enhance patient care, and empower healthcare providers to administer medicine with greater effectiveness. That’s why they call it “Precision Medicine.”
A beacon of empowerment, Dr. Sue is an award-winning professional, author, and trailblazing pioneer. Her expertise intertwines genetics and personalized care in an unparalleled manner. Armed with insights from pharmacogenomics, she adeptly navigates the intricate interplay between genetics and medication therapy, culminating in a meticulously tailored treatment approach.
