We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rupununi resident, Ivan Atkinson, who transitioned out of the earthly abode on the 21st of August, 2024.
Mr. Atkinson, who was born on the 20th of August, 1947, in the Rupununi Savannahs, led a long and meaningful life and is widely recognized and celebrated for being a Rupununi pioneer. He is especially known for his significant contributions to the development of the world famous Rupununi Rancher’s Rodeo.
Team Guyana South America extends heartfelt condolences to the relatives and friends of Mr. Ivan Atkinson. May his soul rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.
