Another gruesome discovery of a dead body in the border town of Lethem, Region 9, Guyana, South America, has once again sent shock waves throughout the peaceful Rupununi community.
The discovery was made this morning around 3 AM (2nd of November 2019) by two locals who reside in the vicinity of the “Black Bridge” in Tabatinga, Lethem, Region 9.
The dead body was discovered this morning with at least one stab wound to the chest and multiple stab wounds to the back of the neck in the Tabatinga Creek – a few meters away from the “Black Bridge.” There were also signs of blunt force trauma to the head.
Apparently the crime was perpetrated approximately 500 feet away from the road. The blood-tinted trail indicated that the body was then dragged and dumped into the Tabatinga Creek.
The crime is suspected to have occurred around 2 AM this morning. Police are currently investigating and some Venezuelans refugees/migrants were called in for questioning.
Up to 9 AM this morning, the body, which is presently at the Mortuary of the Lethem Regional Hospital, has been unidentified. However, residents of the area believe that the victim, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was a Venezuelan living in Lethem.
