Concerned residents of Albouystown in the capital city of Georgetown, Guyana, South America have written in to this news publication to voice concerns over a potential threat to human lives and property.

The rotting electrical pole, seen in the photos above and below on this page, has been in a collapsing state for about one year. Although a new pole has been planted next to it, the rotting pole is still a safety hazard as it runs the risk of collapsing at any time.

The pole is located at the corner of James and Hogg Streets, Albouystown, Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

Residents say that despite numerous complaints to the GPL office, nothing is being done to remedy the situation, and as such, they are considering “cutting down the pole” on their own accord.

Guyana, South America calls on the relevant authorities to address this issue so as to prevent a potential catastrophe. Let’s not wait for something to happen.
