The Chair of the Commonwealth Observer Group in Guyana has this evening, March 5th 2020, (around 6 PM) called on GECOM to follow the legal steps dictated by law in declaring results for Guyana‘s 2020 General and Regional elections.

The former Prime Minister of Barbados, Rt Honorable Owen Arthur, has stated that the tabulation of elections results for March 2, 2020 has not yet been completed and verified according to the established procedures. He, on behalf of the Commonwealth, is calling on Guyana to live up to its “international commitments.”

A report released on the Commonwealth Official Website has stated that it is the “clear view” of the observers that the tabulation of the final elections result has not yet been completed and verified.
