The coronavirus pandamic has put the world on a global lockdown. As a result, airlines all over the world are grounded. Even land transport is heavily restricted. Due to this, tourists, business persons and vacationers who had left their country on a trip are now stuck in different parts of the world with a dwindling hope of returning home.

On the same note, Guyana‘s two international airports, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport and the Eugene Correia International Airport (Ogle), has suspended commercial passenger flights since around mid-March.

On these grounds, the United States Embassy in Guyana has announced today, April 9th 2020, that it is offering a commercial flight on the 14th of April 2020 for US citizens who are stuck in Guyana and who wish to return home to the United States.

The Eastern Airlines Flight will leave the CJIA for the Miami International Airport at 16:30 hrs on Tuesday, 14th of April, 2020.

Reservations for this flight can be made on a first come, first served basis from the Eastern Airlines Website by clicking here.

The US Embassy Guyana strongly encourages all US citizens wishing to depart Guyana to utilize this option.
