A Brazilian woman has reached out to this publication to seek assistance from the general Guyanese population in finding her missing sister who had traveled to Guyana about five years ago and never returned home.
Kelyane Sousa related that her sister, who would now be 48 years old, had left her city of Santa Helena in the state of Maranhao, Brazil in August 2015. She told her family that she was going to work in a gold mining area in Guyana, near to the town of Lethem. But since then, her family never saw or heard from her again.
