A popular Brazilian dredge owner who was well known and liked in Region 9, Guyana, South America, and who has been mining the Marudi Mountains for years, has reportedly been killed in an exchange of gunfire last evening, 24th of April, 2020.
Reports are that the miner was involved in a shootout with members of a Brazilian gang. During the shootout, Zezao was mortally wounded. Mr. Zezao also managed to kill one of his assailants during the exchange of fire.
The police have confirmed that two persons have been killed last evening in a shootout which is being treated as a robbery attempt although details of the incident are still sketchy at this time.
The Marudi Mountains have been a popular gold mining area for years which has been mined by both foreign and local individuals and companies.
