Mr. David Granger – Presidential Candidate of the APNU/AFC

June, 6, 2020. Georgetown, Guyana, South America

As the recount of all votes cast in the March 2, 2020 elections approaches its final phase and the tabulation results continue to show the opposition PPP/C in the lead, the leader and presidential candidate of the APNU/AFC has today, 6th of June, 2020, released a video on his Facebook Page in which he urges Guyanese to remain calm and await the outcome of the 4-stages recount process.

According to the caretaker president of Guyana, South America, the tabulation results from the recount process only represents the first phase of the recount process. The four-stage process, according to Mr. Granger, includes:

Stage 1

The ongoing recount and tabulation which is approaching its final phases at the Arthur Chung Convention Center in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

Stage 2

The Report of the Recount which is to be compiled by the Chief Elections Officer and the CARICOM observers.

Stage 3

The Review of the Reports. The elections commissioners will deliberate over the reports of the Chief Elections Officer and the report prepared by CARICOM.

Stage 4

The result of the general and regional elections to be declared by the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Ms. Claudette Singh.

Guyanese, I encourage everyone to await the completion of the four stages: the current recount, the reports of the Chief Elections Officer and the CARICOM Observer, the review by the elections commission and the declaration of the final results by the Chairman of the Elections Commission.
