Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

In addition to pronouncing that the recount results were credible and must be used to install the new government of Guyana, the Report of the CARICOM Team went on to deal several severe blows to the APNU/AFC government.

In particular, the Report highlighted that the behavior of the APNU/AFC agents at the recount station was “totally unacceptable.”

Here is the extract from the Report:

The level of aggression displayed by some agents in the Recount Work Stations leaves much to be desired. Indeed, the conduct displayed by some of the observed party agents (APNU/AFC) was totally unacceptable.

Having received the reports of CARICOM and Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield, the Chair of GECOM, Ms. Claudette Singh, is expected to make the final pronouncement on the outcome of the March, 2, 2020 elections.

A conglomerate of international powers have urged Guyana to use the results of the recount to install a legitimate government. These include the United States Ambassador, the Canadian High Commission, the European Union, the CARICOM and the Organization of American States. However, the David Granger administration is pushing for a declaration of null and void elections.

The final declaration is expected to be made no later than tomorrow, June, 16, 2020.
