The Chief Justice of the of High Court of Guyana in Georgetown yesterday, 21st of July, 2020, ruled against private citizen and APNU/AFC supporter, Misenga Jones, in the case of Misenga Jones vs. GECOM.

Last week, a few days after the CCJ had ruled that a declaration of winner of the March 2, 2020 elections must be made based on the CARICOM certified recount, Ms. Misenga Jones moved to court to block a declaration based on the recount results. She argued instead that a declaration should be made on the previously discarded tabulations of the 10 Regions.

The High Court ruled yesterday that the matter was already settled at the CCJ for a declaration based on the recount results. The Court further warned of the abuse of the courts in this regard since this is not the first time a supporter of the APNU/AFC has moved to the courts to block the declaration of the results of the CARICOM certified recount.

Lawyer for Ms. Jones, Attorney General, Basil Williams, said they will file an appeal and signaled that the matter might be finally settled right up to the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

The circus show in Guyana continues as the APNU/AFC illegal regime continues to buy time in government.
