Last updated: July 27, 2020 at 11:00 amThe friends of Delicia Johnson bid her a teary-eyed final goodbye yesterday, 26th of July, 2020 as she was laid to rest at Arakaka – a mining area in Region 1, Guyana, South America where she had been working for the past several years.
According to those who took care of the young woman in her final days, Delicia was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis in 2018. However, she was neglectful in taking her medication and, as a result, the condition progressed. Her condition became severe last week when she was rushed to the Matthew Ridge Hospital in a critical state where she subsequently passed away.
Delicia hails from Region 9, Guyana, South America but moved to Region 1 to work in a mining area. She was 25 years old at the time of her death.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, many people, including members of her family, were unable to attend the funeral.
