119 COVID-19 Cases in Region 9

The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded to date, August 10, 2020, for Region 9 has now reached 119. Of these, 113 cases are active. This was confirmed by the Regional Health Officer for the Region, Dr. Uthman.

A total of 404 tests were conducted for Region 9 as the COVID-19 Medical Team makes grueling hours-long journeys across the rugged Rupununi terrain to reach outlying villages.

Today, 10th of August, 7 new positive cases were recorded as follows:

Potarinau 2

Baitoon 3

Wowetta 2.

The Regional Health Officer has said that widespread testing will be embarked on this week in areas with positive cases.
