They Mayor of Georgetown, His Worship Ubraj Narine, yesterday, 25th of November, published the following press release on his Facebook Page.
After listening to recent comments expressed by Mr. Beepat, it can be clearly understood that his knowledge of paying taxes is unintelligible. Thus, it should be noted that every citizen and business entity is expected to fulfill their civic duty by paying their taxes.
Further, Mr. Beepat’s statement is another attempt to deflect from his quagmire of blatant tax evasion. His George Orwillian perspective to perform a civic duty clearly shows that he has no respect for the Mayor and City Councillors of Georgetown and neither the constituents.
It is Obvious that he wishes to act oblivious to the fact that the Mayor and City Council is run primarily on taxes. His deliberate attempt to discredit my ability to perform as Mayor of Georgetown is a clear diversion from his attempts to find ways around executing his Civic duty as a Citizen and Businessman.
In conclusion, I admonish Mr. Beepat to be cautious in making ludicrous aspersions about me and swiftly exercise his civic duty. The Council and constituents are waiting on you.
