Last updated: January 16, 2021 at 9:46 amWhile the COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a serious blow to the lives and livelihoods of many people around the world, one Guyanese woman has put her time in lockdown to good use. Thirty three years old Alecia Caesar has seized the day to create some amazing children books which she hopes to market in and out of Guyana.
In her own words:
My name is Alesia Amanda Caesar. I am a 33 year old single mother of two children. I am a makeup artist, hairstylist and nail technician by profession. I grew up on the West Coast of Demerara where I attended Me-ten Meerzorg Primary School before going on to Stewartville Secondary school.
After high school, I started down the line of Cosmetology – which is also one of my passions. Over a number of years, I have had some good and bad experiences which I always wanted to share with people like myself, but I never found the courage to speak out.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my inspiration to write was rekindled, and with some encouragement from a few good friends, I began the journey once again, but now I’ve decided to take it to another level.
My first book was intended to reflect on women who have been abused, rejected, neglected and even suffered from suicidal thoughts and depression: HIDDEN SCARS. It so happens that on my journey there and with the support of my 16 year old son and 7 year old daughter, I decided to go even further into writing and create my own type of educational books for children.
I am currently working 3 jobs to make this new venture a success..My books has been launched electronically in December, 2020.
LEARNING IS FUN WHEN EACH ONE TEACHES ONE. It is not just about learning, but you can have fun while learning which is the best tool for kids today..
