19th of December, 2020. Georgetown, Guyana, South America
Last updated: December 19, 2020 at 13:33 pmTrans Guyana Airways has announced yesterday, 18th of December, 2020 that it will begin offering flights from the Eugene Correia International Airport at Ogle, East Coast Demerara to Boa Vista, Brazil and vice versa.
The transnational flights to and from Guyana’s southern neighbor are expected to commence on the 21st of December, 2020 with 3 flights per week during the month of December: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. From January onward, the flights will take place on Monday’s Wednesdays and Fridays.
This new service offered by one of Guyana’s most trusted aviation companies will offer great conveniences to persons who frequently travel between Guyana and Brazil for business and personal purposes. At present, the only way to travel to Boa Vista from Georgetown is first to Lethem either by land or air and then to Boa Vista via the Br-401 highway after crossing the Lethem/Bonfim border.
Nevertheless, thee added luxury does come with a cost: $81,000 one-day, and travelers will have to weigh the pros and cons of a direct flight to Boa Vista versus a flight to Lethem and then the bus or taxi to Boa Vista. Travelers will also require a visa and a PCR testing before boarding – which will pose additional hurdles for some travels who often cross the border without stamping.
Baggage Allowance: 20LBS of checked luggage, 5LBS of hand luggage. Additional Luggage may be purchased.
