Two years after the brutal and senseless attack on the life of Dr. Brian O’ Toole, the prime suspect who allegedly committed the act is still on the loose – and no substantial efforts are being made to arrest and punish him for the heinous crime.

Dr. O’Toole posted on his Facebook Page yesterday:

2021 – A New Year. It is almost two years since the shooting at my home that has left my left hand paralyzed and in constant pain. 24 months and no one has been arrested. I was told recently that the person I identified to police, 24 months ago, was apparently boasting on an underground site that he had ‘got away’ with the attempted murder. I shared this with police and the appropriate authorities.

As we enter a new year, I ponder what that boy thinks and what his parents may know or refuse to believe. I fully believe if the boy is not punished in this world the retribution in the next world will be far worse. My goal is not retribution – rather, as a Psychologist, it is to try and understand why the frightened little boy was motivated to do what he did.

Dr. Brian O’Toole is a pioneer in Guyanese Education. He is founder and director of School of the Nations in Guyana, South America.
