A young Guyanese woman details the horrifying story of how she was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight by armed bandits in Georgetown, Guyana, South America – a country that is becoming increasingly more attractive to foreigners due to its recent oil boom.

Unfortunately, incidents like these do not shed good light on this beautiful nation and such atrocities must come to a screeching halt. We call on all relevant authorities to put your foot down on these monsters and parasites roaming the streets of Guyana and tormenting the lives our people.

The incident took place yesterday, 21st of January, 2021, and the young woman, Devina Wilfred-Baksh, who is the victim of the robbery, is pleading with the public to help her recover her documents.

Devina made the following post via her Facebook Page yesterday, 21st of January, 2021.

Today (21st of January, 2021), I had the most horrifying experience of being robbed at gun point. I was traced from Ogle Airport by a white, heavily tinted Rush and was then robbed on Albert Street by two men on an XR motorcycle.

The white Rush turned left onto Robb Street along with the motorcycle. And the same motorcycle came from the said direction with a second person. I parked my car and was about to exit when I saw one of the men coming off the motorcycle and heading towards me.

I decided to run back to get into my car to lock myself in. The man pulled a gun and aimed it to my face. My only thought then was to relieve my bag. I was robbed of 65K, my ID card, my bank card, driver’s license, my car key and whatever little I had in my bag.

My bag was a Black Victoria secret handbag with a Tommy Hilfiger wallet. If anyone happens to see any of those with my documents on the roadway, please contact me. I just want my documents back. Kindly contact me on my Facebook page or 680-6695. I’m kindly asking persons to share my post.

Why go home when you know that you were being followed, just drive to a police station, you have to be smart, Guyana isn’t safe, it a nest for robberies and killings.
