Last updated: February 28, 2021 at 12:50 pmA Mahaica, East Coast Demerara family has been plunged into a state of shock and mourning by the tragic loss of their 20-month old son who was killed in an unfortunate accident involving the father’s truck. The accident is reported to have happened yesterday, 27th of February, 2021 at the family’s residence in Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, South America.
According to Police, the father was reversing his truck out of the yard at a slow pace when he felt the tire roll over something. He also glanced something between the lorry’s wheels via the rear-view mirror. He quickly got out and looked under the wheel only to see the young child with his head smashed.
Our prayers at this time are with the family, especially the father, who definitely is finding it hard to cope with the guilt and psychological pressure of being responsible for what happened. We know you did not do it on purpose.
We hope this serves as a wake up call for all those who have vehicles and young children in the yard. Make sure you know where the children are before driving off. Also look behind and under the vehicle, especially between the wheels, to make sure it is all clear. Children, like pets, often find a comfy spot between the wheels of a vehicle when no one is watching.
Team Guyana, South America extends sincere sympathies to the relatives and friends of this little angel now in heaven. Perhaps you were too good for this world, so God took you home.
