Residents of Lowland Housing Scheme on the East Coast of Demerara, Guyana, South America, has reached out to this publication to highlight the deplorable state of the roads in that community in an effort to attract the attention of the government in upgrading it.

The residents say that the roads have been in a deteriorating state for several years and keep getting worse each day.

During a meeting with the Agriculture minister in January this year, the matter was raised and the residents were promised that the roads would be upgraded soon. However, almost nine months later, nothing has been done.

The residents are aware that road upgrades across the country are ongoing, and wonder why theirs have been overlooked for so long. As a result, they are calling on the Ministry of Public Infrastructure or any other relevant government authority to take a step in the direction of Lowland Housing Scheme and ensure that the roads are upgraded as soon as possible.
