A head-on collision involving a sand truck and a route 32 (Georgetown to Parika) minibus occurred this morning along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway near to Splashmin’s Fun Park area. This publication was reliably informed by persons on the scene that it appears as though the bus swerved into the path of truck and collided head on. The accident occurred around 3:30 A.M on the morning of September 5, 2021.
The damage to both vehicles suggests that one or both vehicles were going at a reasonable pace. The front of the bus was badly damaged as well as the truck.
According to persons on the scene of the accident, the truck driver was flung out of the truck, but he received only minor injuries. However, the driver of the bus, and his partner, a woman, appeared to have been very seriously injured. They were taken out of the bus and rushed to the hospital.
