According to a statement released by the Guyana Police Force this evening, an unidentified human corpse was fished out of a trench east of the Good Success Dam at Craig, East Bank Demerara, yesterday, 18th of October, 2021.
The corpse was identified as male, but no other details were identifiable. Police ranks visited the scene of the gruesome discovery yesterday, 18th of October, 2021 at around 3:45 PM. Persons told the police that the human corpse was seen floating face down in the trench. The dead person was clothed in a multi-colored shirt and a dark colored pants.
Upon recovery from the trench, the body was observed to have been in a decomposed state, but no marks of violence were observable.
The body was transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting identification and a post mortem.
Police have already questioned several persons and the investigation is ongoing.
