Fire Breaks Out at Office of the Director of Public Prosecution

A fire has erupted today in Georgetown, Guyana at the police compound at Battery Road, Kingston close to the seawall at around 2 PM. The compound also houses the office of the Director of Public Prosecution. The Guyana Fire Service has responded and firefighters are on the scene trying to extinguish the blaze.

It is not clear at this time what started the fire.

A citizen on the scene filmed the following video using Facebook Live.
