Mr. Ghangaram Sooknanan explained to this publication that he had bought the goat in June 2021 for a price of $32,000 and that it was stolen from his yard on January 4th, 2022. The goat was pregnant at the time of being stolen which increases its value.
Mr. Sooknanan commented that he believes that people in or close to his village stole the goat, and he believes that the goat is still alive since it is due to give birth sometime in the future.

On the 8th of January, 2022, Mr. Sooknanan made the following Facebook Post:
I see a lot of people laughing at my goat post and making mean comments. Y’all don’t know how hard a person have to work to achieve what they want. I work really hard to start my little business and to buy my goats
I work with people and they does handle you like dogs. I work all over they dam place including wash people pots, pick up dead people etc, and then I left and started my own little business at my home which is name Ghangaram Sooknanan poultry supply. I bought the goat for 32000 and she was pregnant and for me to get the increase. The ppl come thief me goat

Mr. Sooknanan is willing to give $8000 and a duck to anyone returning the goat.
