In what appears to be a serious escalation of the war in Europe, troops from the Czech Republic have arrived in Ukraine to join the fight against the Russians.

Today, 1st of March, 2022, an unverified number of Czech soldiers arrived in Ukraine to join the war against Russia. According to sources inside Ukraine, a large number of Czech soldiers arrived in Ukraine over the last few days. They were not sent by the Czech government. They are volunteers who chose to go on their own to fight alongside the Ukrainian people. Nevertheless the Czech government had to approve their going there.

The Czech president had been a very strong supporter of Putin, but Putin was quick to lose this support when he invaded Ukraine, and the Czech president didn’t mince his words in condemning the aggression. .

The Czech Republic has sent military equipment and aid to Ukraine. In addition to 4,000 pieces of artillery shells worth the equivalent of $1.7 million, the Czech Republic has sent machine guns, submachine guns, assault rifles, and pistols together with ammunition worth the equivalent of some $8.6 million to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president had recently appealed for international volunteers to join the fight against Russia, and several countries, including the Czech Republic and the UK, said they are drafting legislation that will permit volunteer soldiers to fight in Ukraine if they are brave and willing enough to do so.

The real question here is: how is the Russian government going to react to this? Will Russia launch a counterattack against the Czech Republic? And if it does, will such a move serve as a catalyst for a third World War?
