Publishing a book is no ordinary task, but being published by Pearson, the world’s largest and most recognized publisher of IT books and learning solutions, is a task for the elite.

Donald Bacha, born in Corentyne, Berbice, Region 6, Guyana, South America, attended Tain Nursery, Tain Primary, and J.C Chandisingh Secondary before moving on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management at the University of Guyana, Berbice Campus. After four years, at the tender age of 19, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Management. After graduating, he went on to secure a job at the University of Guyana as a computer technician.

But despite pursuing a degree in management, Donald’s passion always lay in computers.

I had just come out of high school, and I wasn’t sure what I wanted at that point. The University was only offering a few options, and a degree in computer science was not one of them. So that’s the reason I settled for Public Management. But while pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management, I had my head buried in IT books which included COMPTIA and Microsoft certification courses.

Just a few months after graduating with a bachelor’s degree, Donald wrote the Comptia A+ certification exams at Global Technology–which was the only authorized testing center in Guyana at that time. He aced the test and became A+ certified at the age of 19. After that, he spent the next two years studying for and passing the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer exams. Just after that, he started working with the Ministry of Health as an Systems Administrator in the IT department.

While working with the Ministry of Health, Donald simultaneously pursued a Masters of Business Administration which he successfully completed in 2013. In 2012, while still studying at the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus, Donald left the Ministry of Health and started a new job as a Network Administrator at MACORP.

In 2015, he resigned from MACORP to migrate to the United States for personal and family reasons. Upon arriving in the USA, he started teaching at an IT Academy. This job lasted one year. After that, Donald worked with several top US and UK IT companies.

Having a passion for simplifying technical knowledge, Donald pitched a proposal to Pearson in 2019. However, at that time, Pearson already had an author working on a similar idea, so they suggested that Donald worked on another idea.

Based on my educational background and work experience, Pearson thought that the Exam Cram for the Cisco Certified Network Professional and the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Enterprise Core would be a good fit for me, and so they proposed that I work on that instead. I happily accepted.

On May 13, 2022, Donald’s IT book was officially released by Pearson IT Certification – the world’s leader in IT certification learning solutions. It is now available for purchase on the Pearson website, Amazon, and most major bookstores across the USA.

Donald holds advanced level CISCO certifications including CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Data Center, and VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certifications.
