Putin today, 21st of September, 2022, mobilized 300,000 military reservists as he forges ahead to annex parts of Ukrainian territory. He has further threatened that any Ukrainian ally which attempts to intervene will be met with a devastating response, and he boasts that Russia has “lots of weapons” to use against its enemies.
Putin’s call up of his reserve officers and NCOs who are political and fanatical is worrisome. These include veterans of previous conflicts who would fight for medals, crony jobs, and contracts more than the pay.
We may very well be facing the end of life on earth as we know it as Putin calls up military reserves and threatens to use nuclear weapons against any country which meddles in the ongoing Ukraine/Russia war. This development comes as Russia faces heavy losses in Ukraine after Ukrainian defenders pushed back Russian forces and liberated key Ukrainian cities from Russian grip.
A few days ago, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concerns over the war in Ukraine in a face to face meeting with Putin. Putin then promised to end the conflict as soon as possible. But it is clear from these developments that he is not willing to accept a defeat.
“In the face of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country, to protect Russia and our people, we will certainly use all the means at our disposal,” Putin warned. “This is not a bluff,” he said, in a clear reference to Russia’s nuclear capabilities. “I will emphasize this again: with all the means at our disposal,” he added.
The Vesna opposition movement in Russia called for nationwide protests on Wednesday, saying “Thousands of Russian men — our fathers, brothers and husbands — will be thrown into the meat grinder of the war. What will they be dying for? What will mothers and children be crying for?”
US President Joe Biden today addressed a conglomerate of world leaders where he urged the world to stand against Russia, whether friend or foe.
“This war is about extinguishing Ukraine’s right to exist as a state, plain and simple, and Ukraine’s right to exist as a people,” Biden said. “Whoever you are, wherever you live, whatever you believe, that should make your blood run cold.”
This is serious business. It is now the opportune time for ALL countries around the world to join hands and condemn Vladimir Putin’s action in Ukraine – pressuring him to withdraw his forces. And failing that, it would be in the best interest of all nations to launch a full scale military attack against Moscow in an effort to take out Putin once and for all – so as to prevent a nuclear catastrophe – which has the potential to alter the course of human life on earth.
