Six orphaned siblings are now in a better position in life after receiving a new home from First Lady of Guyana, Mrs. Arya Ali. On the 21st of October, 2022, the First Lady, via her Facebook Page, made the following statement.

With a great sense of fulfilment, I handed over the keys to a new three-bedroom house to 28-year old Deeyawd Rasheed and his five siblings – Saudia, Arshina, Farieeza, Reeyawd, and Feeyawd, yesterday, at La Parfait Harmonie, WBD.

The siblings had been living with relatives whom they claim repeatedly threatened to evict them since the tragic death of their father in 2020. The year prior, their mother died of renal and heart failure.

While battling a myriad of challenges, the orphaned siblings, through Deeyawd, reached out to my office for assistance in acquiring their own home. I made a commitment to them last year to ensure that they had their own home within one year. And yesterday I fulfilled that promise by handing over to them, their new house, semi-furnished.

Touching one life can make such a huge difference in the world. So I am grateful to God and our kind sponsors for allowing me to make a difference in the lives of these young people.
