Last updated: November 2, 2022 at 15:16 pmThe Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Guyana Police Force and the National Road Safety Council (GNRSC), yesterday (Wednesday November 1, 2022), launched National Road Safety Month under the theme Safe Driving, Saves Lives!
The ceremony began with a road parade which featured members of the Joint Services, the Ministry of Health, and students from various schools.
The road parade began at Philadelphia Street, New Amsterdam, Region 6, and then moved onto Main Road, where the Hon. Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Robeson Benn, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken, Traffic Chief Mr. Dennis Stephen, and Regional Commander # 6, Mr. Shivpersaud Bacchus, received the “Eyes Right” salute. The parade then continued onto Vyheid Street and ended at the State House lawns, New Amsterdam, Berbice, Guyana, South America.
The launch is being attended by Minister Robeson Benn, Top Cop Mr. Clifton Hicken, Regional Division Commander for 4 ‘C’ Mr. Khali Pareshram, Regional Division Commander #6 Mr. Shivpersaud Bacchus, Traffic Chief Dennis Stephen, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer Mr. Stephen Telford, Coordinator of National Road Safety Council Ms. Ramona Doorgen; Her Worship the Mayor of New Amsterdam, Ms. Winifred Heywood; Regional Chairman #6 Mr. David Armogan, Other Senior and Junior Police Officers and special invitees.
