Police Youth Ambassador Pageant Delegates Sashed
Twelve beautiful young ladies drawn from across the various Regional Police Divisions who are vying for the Miss Guyana Police Force ‘Youth Ambassador Crown,’ were sashed on Sunday October 16, 2022.
The sashing ceremony was held at the Kingston Seawall Bandstand, under the theme ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ with Deputy Commissioner ‘Administration’ (ag.) Mr. Calvin Brutus sashing the young ladies and congratulating them on their journey thus far.
The twelve young ladies are all winners of Police Youth Ambassador Pageants held in their respective Regional Divisions and are now contesting for the highly coveted Miss Guyana Police Force Youth Ambassador Pageant.
Along with the Sashing Ceremony, the delegates were treated to a Rose Ceremony where they were all given pink roses in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During the Rose Ceremony Woman Assistant Superintendent Jillian Moore, who was present at the event and is a Breast Cancer survivor, received a special rose and was given a surprise token of appreciation which was handed over by Mr. Brutus on behalf of the Guyana Police Force.
Ms. Moore then gave the delegates a pep talk, sharing her experiences as a survivor and encouraging the delegates to get tested if they suspect any form of abnormalities in their breast. “Early detection saves lives,” she told the young ladies.
The delegates were also taken to several monument sites around Georgetown for sightseeing and to conduct photo shoots which will be uploaded to social media for voting purposes.
Head of the Police Community Relations Department Superintendent Crystal Robison mentioned that she and her team of ranks are working extensively to ensure that the young ladies are adequately prepared for the big night.
The finale for the Guyana Police Force Youth Ambassador Pageant is scheduled to be held on November 6, 2022 at the National Cultural Center where the young ladies are expected to showcase a spectacular performance.
Also present at the event on Sunday were Head of the Strategic Planning Unit Woman Superintendent Nicola Kendall, Second-in-Charge of Administration Woman Superintendent Leslyn Smith, Force Welfare Officer Womam Superintendent Allison Moore, Officer-in-Charge General Office Woman Deputy Superintendent Jeanette Prince along with other senior and junior ranks of the Force.
