Last updated: November 6, 2022 at 13:42 pmA defiant Jair Bolsonaro, who lost the 2022 general elections to Lula Da Silva, has said that he is not giving up power. He has claimed electoral fraud in all 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District. He has made statements such as that he is only moving if he is dead and that only God can move him out of the seat of the presidency.
Meanwhile, Bolsonaro supporters, called Bolsonaristas in Brazil, have taken to the roads to protest by blocking roads and burning objects on the roads. Bolsonaro had issued a statement last week condemning the actions and calling for peaceful protests instead.
On social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube, Bolsonaritas have posted videos which garnered millions of views calling for nationwide protests. Bolsonaro supporters are more blatantly outspoken compared to Lula supporters who seem to be sitting quietly in the background.
This publication interviewed a political activist, Maria Helena, a professor and businesswoman, from the state of Mato Grosso. She related that there is a high probability of civil war in Brazil, and that Bolsonaro will not give up power to Lula. She said she believes there was electoral fraud in favor of Lula, and that it must be corrected, and that most Bolsonaro supporters “know” this, and they will take to the streets to demand justice.
Yes, a civil war will be bad for Brazil, but it will not be worse than communism, which is what Lula is bringing to Brazil. We must not allow Lula to return to power. Of course, we pray that peace prevails, but if war is what it takes…we must choose the lesser of two evils.

Meanwhile, political experts in support of Lula have said that Bolsonaro has three choices: go to jail, flee the country, or face political isolation.
