A defiant Jair Bolsonaro, who lost the 2022 general elections to Lula Da Silva, has said that he is not giving up power. He has claimed electoral fraud in all 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District. He has made statements such as that he is only moving if he is dead and that only God can move him out of the seat of the presidency.
In the first public demonstration since the end of the elections, President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) expressed thanks to his supporters for the 58 million votes received on Sunday and said that the reaction of supporters who have blocked highways across the country since Sunday, are “the result of indignation and a feeling of injustice of how the last elections took place.” He, however, condemned the acts, saying that the protests cannot follow the methods of the left.
