A prominent Guyanese citizen, Mr. Frank Satnarine, described a harrowing experience of being robbed at gunpoint in the capital city of Georgetown on the evening of Saturday, 23rd of July, 2022 at around 10:30 PM. These types of gunpoint robberies, perpetuated by youths on bicycles, are unfortunately not uncommon in Guyana, but are poorly reported upon, and even more poorly addressed by the Guyana Police Force. Guyanese, and foreigners visiting Guyana, are left at the mercy of these robbers who carry out their attacks as though it were a full time job both in the day and night.
A disturbing video circulated today, 7th of July, 2022, on social media which shows a group of persons beating, verbally abusing, punishing, and humiliating a young Guyanese woman for allegedly stealing a number of chairs from a church. Several public figures and organizations have come forward to condemn the act which can be described as using a computer device to humiliate a person. Laws have recently been drafted to criminalize the use of a computer device to humiliate a person.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mr Lennox Shuman, in a letter to the Editor yesterday, 21st of June, 2022, threw full support behind Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo after allegations leveled by Vice News that he was heavily involved in corrupt practices. “…the same humble young man that I once knew, has become a brilliant tactician in a country that otherwise would have been relegated to a dictatorship had it not been for his efforts.”
A Guyanese man, identified as “Spencer” has been arrested by law enforcement officials at an airport in the capital city of Kenya. Detectives arrested Spencer yesterday, 16th of June, 2022 at the airport in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa.

Two men, Mark Dhuman and Andre Azimullah, has today, 8th of June, 2022, been sentenced to death for the 2017 slaying of businessman Danian Jagdeo. Jagdeo was trailed from the upper Corentyne area down to a shop at Alness Village, Corentyne, while he was plying his trade as a phone card vendor. A man using a motorcycle carrying a false number plate tracked him to the shop and robbed him at gunpoint. Danian put up a fight during which he was shot by the armed robber.
Living conditions in the country of Syria are difficult even for ordinary Syrian nationals – who regularly flee the country seeking refuge on foreign shores. You can imagine then how much more difficult it will be for foreign nationals living in refugee camps of that country – whose lives are in constant danger every day. The living conditions of the Syrian refugee camps such as Al Roj in northern Syria can be described as “inhumane,” and the faster we empty those refugee camps, the better it will be for Syria and the world.
According to the Kaieteur News report, it was the pastor’s wife who discovered the thief sleeping on the floor around 5:30 A.M. on the morning of Sunday, 29th of May, 2022. The pastor wife had left her bed to go downstairs when she made the alarming discovery. She came up back quietly and whispered the news to the pastor.
Tulsa Police have reported that a gunman stormed the Natalie Building at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. At least three persons have reportedly died and police say there are “multiple injuries.”

On Tuesday, 24th of May, 2022, at around 11:30 Texas time, a deranged youth, perhaps possessed by the devil or having psychological problems, went on a killing rampage. His target: an elementary school of 7 to 10 years old. Reports are that he had shot his grandmother at home before leaving in a car. Clad in body armor, 18-year old Salvador Ramos was armed with a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and high-capacity magazines.
41-year-old Omega Ault, a teacher of Crane Public Road, West Coast Demerara, was this afternoon, Friday, 27th of May, 2022, discovered dead and in a state of decomposition at her home. Her brother, who had been calling her for about two weeks with no response, decided to visit her home. Upon knocking and receiving no response, he decided to break into the house and came face to face with the gruesome discovery.
In reference to an inaccurate article published by this publication today, 18th of May, 2022, stating that Romanus Carmichael was shot dead in Manaus, the family of Romanus has contacted this publication to state that he died from natural causes on the 17th of January, 2022, and has provided evidence of the same. The said article has since been deleted.

A character who is suspected of raping and brutally murdering a young woman at a remote location in Region 7 has been arrested by police. He is commonly known in the area as “Rastaman.” According to information received from persons within the area, the suspect took the victim further into an isolated area where he committed the heinous act.
