Residents from various communities in the Mabaruma sub-district, Region One will soon have improved access to water service following the drilling of several wells. Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal recently conducted an assessment of several Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) sub-stations in the sub-district.
Minister of Housing, Collin Croal, in a press release this morning, 10th of May, 2022, said that Region 10 squatters whose houses were demolished on Saturday, 7th of May, 2022, will be relocated and compensated. Mr. Croal accused opposition political figures of exaggerating the extent of the damage done to structures belonging to squatters.
According to reports received, the Ministry of Housing did not make any effort to relocate and rehouse the affected persons. Instead, public-spirited persons moved to the rescue operation are currently in the process of putting back a shelter over the heads of displaced persons.
Inadequate housing and fruitless rent are quickly becoming things of the past in Guyana, South America as the Ministry of Housing and Water embarks on a project to put adequate roofs over the heads of all Guyanese. Now, Guyanese can own their own homes and concentrate on more important things like their jobs, businesses, and careers.
