Residents of Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara (WCD), Region Three, Guyana, South America, have given the PPP/C Government high commendation for fulfilling its commitment to developing their community. Chairman of the Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), Kenton Hilliman, said Tuesday, that the many interventions, particularly in the areas of roads, and drainage and irrigation have significantly benefitted farmers and the over 3,000 residents of the village.
President Mohamed Irfaan Ali has restated his government’s commitment to ensuring the upliftment of Guyanese in every community across the country. The president, was on Tuesday, 1st of November, 2022 addressing residents of Den Amstel and neighboring communities in Region Three during an outreach.
The long-awaited Presidential Commission of Inquiry (CoI) into the events of the March 2, 2020, General and Regional elections will officially begin public hearings on Friday. The commission already has more than 20 witnesses lined up to recount what transpired during the March elections and the five-month delay before the results were declared.
His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali said that the developmental projects being implemented by the Government in Tucville, Georgetown, Guyana, South America are geared to enhance the community’s infrastructure and the well-being of its residents. The Head of State gave this assurance as he addressed scores of residents during an outreach in the community.
On Wednesday, 2nd of November, 2022, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali conducted a walkabout and met with a group of residents. He assured them that all steps will be taken to ensure they are relocated to safer and healthier communities.

A heartwarming video showing President Ali’s son interacting with another kid at a Quick Serv location in Georgetown has gone viral and touched the hearts of countless people. The video, posted below, shows President Ali’s son feeding ice cream to a little girl, who is complete stranger to him, in the presence of her parents. Many people have lauded the anecdote as promoting love and unity amongst Guyanese people.

Leader of the opposition, Aubrey Norton, has once again sent a strong message to Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali, that he is not on friendly terms with him. His attitude is akin to a voracious animal ready to attack. Opposition leader Aubrey Norton is clearly not comfortable with the position he holds. He seems woefully desirous of switching places with the president.
Some supporters of the APNU/AFC coalition have been throwing around a tagline that “the coalition will be back.” It’s more like the coalition will be at the back of the junkyard broken beyond repair. Leader of the Alliance for Change political party – which comprises a major part of the said political coalition, has announced that the party will be saying goodbye to its APNU partnership when the Cummingsburg Accord expires at the end of this year (December, 31st, 2022).
After the recent accusations by Vice News that Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo is heavily involved in fraud and is “selling out Guyana,” a slew of friends and fans have come forward to write strong statements of support for the Vice President, defending his honor. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mr Lennox Shuman, in a letter to the Editor yesterday, 21st of June, 2022, threw full support behind Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo after allegations leveled by Vice News that he was heavily involved in corrupt practices. “…the same humble young man that I once knew, has become a brilliant tactician in a country that otherwise would have been relegated to a dictatorship had it not been for his efforts.”
During a Press Conference today, 21st of June, 2022, Dr. Jagdeo said that a Commission of Inquiry into the March 2, 2022 has been launched. The Vice President says he is confident that the COI will reveal that the APNU/AFC coalition government lost and attempted to rig the said elections.
Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, said today that Vice News has reputational issues globally, and suggested that they are eager to produce sensationalized content which appeals to a US audience such as showing corrupt third world leaders and portraying China’s dominance of of the world. He posited that the publication is profit driven because they have to produce what sells. Further, the Vice President said he doesn’t blame Vice News for carrying out the undercover operation which failed to link him to corruption.
It is not clear who or which entity is the mastermind of the recent sting operation meant to sink Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and portray him as a corrupt politician. Leader of the sting operation, and documentary producer on alleged government corruption in Guyana, Isobel Yeung, works for HBO, Showtime, and Vice News. However, the sting operation was unsuccessful as it did not produce enough incriminating evidence against the Vice President – even though the actors attempted to elicit it.
Leader of the opposition APNU/AFC, Aubrey Norton, today seemed irate when he appeared in a live Facebook broadcast and said that the president bullied him into shaking his hands. Norton alleged that he was “in his corner” when the president showed up “with a set of cameras” and attempted to shake his hand. He said he refused, but President Ali bullied him into a handshake – an act which seems to have caused Norton some amount of emotional distress.
David Patterson and Khemraj Ramjattan, two AFC members, have both expressed strong interest in contesting for the leadership position of the Alliance for Change Political Party. The two were the only nominees and will be officially contesting to become the next leader of the AFC.
So my people, it is with a heavy heart that I learnt that the National Library on Monday canceled its permission to the Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham Foundation to host the Foundation’s Commemorative Exhibition celebrating the life of Forbes Burnham and in particular his contributions to our independence struggle and securing our independence.
Today, 26th of May, 2022, Guyana celebrates its 56th year as an independent nation. Guyana was granted independence from Great Britain in 1966. However, the exact date, May 26th, was appointed by then President Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham as the date to remember Guyana’s status as an independent nation.
According to reports received, the Ministry of Housing did not make any effort to relocate and rehouse the affected persons. Instead, public-spirited persons moved to the rescue operation are currently in the process of putting back a shelter over the heads of displaced persons.
