A Guyanese resident has taken to social media to voice her dissatisfaction over the state of a roadway at Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Region 10, Guyana, South America. According to the resident, the road is in such bad condition that a taxi cannot traverse it, putting residents in much inconvenience. There is also a broken pipeline pouring water onto the sand road and she alleges that GWI has ignored her reports about it.
Residents of Lowland Housing Scheme Appeal for Better Roads
In August, 2021, we published a story highlighting the distress of residents of Lowland Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, South America. Several residents had reached out to this publication asking us to highlight the dilapidated condition of the roads in that village which makes the life of the residents extremely difficult.
Ogle to Eccles “Bypass” Highway Will Further Congest the Traffic at Golden Grove
Last year, we looked on in astonishment and bewilderment as the government announced plans to build a bypass road from Ogle on the East Coast of Demerara to Eccles on the East Bank. This is evidently intended to ease traffic congestion from Georgetown to Eccles. However, the traffic from Georgetown to Eccles is nothing compared to the traffic along the public road at Golden Grove where the four-lane highway converges into a two-lane road.
