Jennifer Lawrence, a US citizen who has migrated to and been living in the Central Rupununi Savannahs for several years, sees a need for more computer and internet literacy that will help to develop hinterland communities. Her dream is to set up a computer training facility to teach her villagers how they can harness the power of the internet to promote their products, sell stuff, research, and so much more.
Stories of paranormal activities such as suspected demonic attacks are not uncommon in Region 9 and have been going on for years, perhaps decades. The stories are prolific in boarding schools where students live in dorms. Numerous persons have reported that the students of these schools, especially those who live in the dorms, regularly come under what they believe are demonic attacks.

After a 2-year hiatus, the annual Rupununi Rodeo is back in full swing. The Rupununi Rodeo Pageant, held on the Friday of the Easter Weekend, add flavor to the Rodeo Celebrations. This year, six Rupununi beauties will compete for the Miss Rupununi Rodeo 2022 Crown.
Lethem’s first ever Cricket Club has been launched on the 22nd of March, 22. Founder, Kenrick McDonald, says he hopes the Cricket Club will help to unearth talent in Region 9.
