Following the completion of the Post Mortem examination, the body of the teenaged mom who died by drowning in Region 7 will be transported to her hometown of St. Ignatius Village in Region 9 for funeral services. Presently, the body is being prepared by the funeral parlor for transportation to Lethem via bus through the Lethem-Linden Trail.
After being transported from Region 7, the body of Anisa Miguel arrived this afternoon, 27th of June, 2022, at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary. There, the police called the close relatives to confirm that it is really her.
The mother of famous Guyanese cricketer, Veerasammy Permaul, who was unfortunately and tragically murdered by her husband a few days ago, will be laid to rest on Sunday, 1st of May, 2022.
Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health, Lolita Ribeiro, passed away last evening, 26th of April, 2022, after losing a year-long battle with cancer. She was 45 years old at the time of her death. Ms. Ribeiro was diagnosed with cancer in late April, 2021 after testing positive for Covid-19. She was treated in both Guyana and Suriname. In January, 2022, she reported feeling better and was back on duties as Chief Medex.
A popular Georgetown businessman, Mr. Compton Narine, who has served his country for most of his life, has died at a ripe old age of 76 years after leading a meaningful and successful life, and leaving a legacy that his children are proud to carry on.
