Yupukari is an Amerindian Reserve Settlement located in Central Rupununi, Guyana, South America. It is home to the rare and endangered species of black caiman which is the subject of international research and studies. The black caiman is said to be remaining in only 3 places on earth – with Yupukari being one of them. The study of the black caiman by an American group led to the creation of the Caiman House Eco Lodge.
