The junction where the “Cuffy Statue” is erected is called the “Square of the Revolution” in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.
Cuffy, also spelled “Coffy” was an African slave who led a revolt against his slave masters after a fruitless negotiation. Cuffy was successful in capturing the territory and ruling it for one year, but he committed suicide after enemy forces led by another slave closed in on him.
