The Demerara Harbour Bridge is an 1851 meters long floating bridge which was commissioned on the 2nd of July 1978. The bridge spans a 4-mile gap between the East Bank and the West Bank of the Demerara River. As you can see in the picture above, there is a pedestrian lane in addition to the vehicular lane. The Demerara Harbour Bridge can be found on the East Bank at Peter’s Hall – about 4 miles from Georgetown, Guyana, South America. It crosses over to the village of Schoon Ord on the West Bank of the Demerara River.
