The border town of Lethem is located to the south of Guyana in the Upper Takutu – Upper Essequibo Region (Region 9) of Guyana, South America. It borders the Brazilian municipality of Bonfim. Lethem was declared a town in the year 2016 by the David Granger Administration. In October 2017, Lethem celebrated its first year of township with the first ever Lethem Town Week.
