The Eugene Correia International Airport is located in Ogle on the East Coast of Demerara, Guyana, South America.
The airport was formerly named Ogle International Airport, however, one year after taking office, the David Granger Administration renamed the aiport to Eugene Correia International Airport in honor of a Guyanese businessman whom he said had contributed significantly to Guyana’s development.
The change of name was greatly controversial and several businesses had moved to prevent this from happening. Nevertheless, the President used the powers of his office to implement the change.
The airport is serviced by two airlines: Air Services and Trans Guyana. The photo above shows a Trans – Guyana aircraft being prepared for takeoff.
