The town of New Amsterdam, located in Berbice, Region 6, Guyana, South America, is one of Guyana’s earliest townships – dating back to the time when Guyana had only 6 towns.
New Amsterdam is well known for its many businesses places including stores and the famous New Amsterdam Market. It is also a hub for passenger cars and buses going to Georgetown and Skeldon.
